Cloud Services Sales Executive

Velocity Technology Solutions is expanding and is adding a Cloud Services Executive to join our dynamic and highly successful team. We are currently interviewing for an experienced Executive Cloud Seller to drive and manage sales across the Velocity landscape.. Velocity offers Cloud services across public, private and hybrid cloud environments and is an Advanced AWS partner.


Drives the full sales cycle to win large, complex, strategic, business changing deals. Responsible for understanding customers' business needs and strategy. Generates and owns opportunities through the full sales cycle from lead to close. Leverages an established network of references to win credibility.


  • Builds and owns the account plans, including pursuit plan, timeline, deliverables, and goals.

  • Leads sales process for all Velocity solutions, particularly large, complex, multi-cloud pursuits requiring cross functional collaboration.

  • Conducts targeted outbound prospecting within assigned territory and/or accounts.

  • Engages potential client to understand high-level needs and verifies right fit and qualified lead for Velocity solution.

  • Leads efforts to create proposal for solution to prove value add.

  • Leads the negotiation, closure, and knowledge management of customer contracts.

  • Collaborates with prospective customers to discuss Data Center Outsourcing as well as other Velocity solutions across various clouds.

  • Proactively identifies and participates in the resolution of complex problems that impact the direction of the business.

  • Develops and delivers innovative strategies that benefit customers and/or clients.

  • Contributes to the development of annual organizational objectives/priorities.

Job Requirements

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Meets or exceeds sales booking targets.

  • Meets or exceeds pipeline targets.

  • Ensures documentation necessary for the deal is properly maintained and updated and provides leadership updates on status, resources, and financial information

  • Ensures opportunities are properly maintained and updated.

  • Creates customer partnerships and references by delivering fanatical customer experience

  • Expands initial customer sales by selling additional Velocity services, migrating and managing additional workloads and/or infrastructure, selling applications modernization services.


  • Business knowledge to understand customer needs and strategy and apply the value of Velocity solutions to their specific situation.

  • Must have the experience and business savvy necessary to interact directly with CTO, CIO, VP and other senior roles within the customer organization.

  • Must have the business connections to gain access to new customers through self-directed referrals and customer penetration activities.

  • May be regarded as the expert in a particular applications area

  • Able to anticipate business and industry issues and recommend new and innovative approaches to respond.

  • Able to communicate the same message in a different way to both technical and business oriented people. Superior ability to adapt messages to stakeholders at all levels of the company, from CTO level to front-line technical support.

  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Goal oriented with superior work ethic.

  • Able to influence others in decision-making.

  • Superior negotiation skills and the ability to negotiate with many personality types.

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work numerous projects at the same time.

  • Strong problem solving skills and a high level of patience and the ability to nurture.

  • Able to develop and manage internal and external business relationships of various temperaments, talents and convictions.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field required.


  • Requires 12+ years successful technology B2B sales experience including a minimum of 4 years of B2B sales experience in Managed or Cloud Hosting experience

  • 2 years of successful Public Cloud sales experience (AWS, Azure)

  • Successful acquisition sales experience, incorporating value/service selling in business or marketing required.

  • Demonstrated successful experience developing and maintaining a sales pipeline through referrals, customer contacts, and targeted accounts.

  • Experience in all facets of sales: outbound lead generation, follow up, pipeline management, training, and closing skills required.

  • Documented success in closing revenue generating business and successful history working under a quota required.

  • Previous strategic selling experience required.

  • Existing relationships with AWS &/or Azure direct sales and understanding of AWS &/or Azure organization and selling motions.


  • Lives in territory

  • Expected to be home office based

  • Expected to be traveling to customers 60-80% of time
